Visioning Committee
This committee was organized to assist the community in developing a comprehensive plan for improving the environment.
The committee undertook a study with the assistance of a private landscape architect, Trees Forever,the Iowa Department of Transportation and Iowa State University Landscape Extension to look at the community and suggest areas where the environment could be improved.
These project areas are around the entranceways to the community, the downtown area and the parks.
After developing the plan, the committee has continued to work obtaining grants and carrying out the various projects.
This committee has ten members and was original established in 1998. The committee members are Harlan Schuck, Pat Morgan, Juli Grill, Herman Luhring, Mary Norton, LaVern Holm, Linda Cornelius, Ruth Haan, Bernie Sohm and Thomas A. Lawler.
