Parkersburg is Growing With Pride

A reminder to those on the new Highway 20 that we are still here.
The new highway 20 is both a challenge and an opportunity
for the communities it has bypassed. Some interesting things to think about:
  • Highway 14 still goes through Parkersburg
  • The ease of travel will help attract new residents and industry. This will
mean more people in town to shop, live and send their kids to school.
  • Our retail sales continue to go up on an annual basis.
  • Parkersburg has issued 19 home building permits since January 2006 valued at
$4.5 million and a new Body Shop and Emergency Service/Fire Station have been
    built in the Industrial/Business Park.
  • A new Club House has been built at Legend Trails new golf course and a
37 unit Assisted Living Facility to be completed in 2008 valued at $2.2 milion.
  • In addition to Legend Trail's 100 lots, two other housing developments have opened.
  • Custom Fit Foot Orthotics, Leah's Gifts & Card Shoppe,
JD's Sports Pub, and Bluestem Winery are new businesses
that have opened in the past few years. The latest new businesses are
Distinctive Images by Beth, Creative Cakes by June, Brenda's Upholstery,
Parkersburg Family Dental, Petal Pusher Gifts & Memories, New Look Upholstery,
Dutch's Steakhouse & Saloon, The Print Place,
Rising Sun Karate, Creative Memories, Wood Vision Clinic and The Redstone.
Luhring's Monuments is in a new facility that also houses the new Trinkets & Togs store.
Also new are Redline Auto Body and Black Sheep Antiques
  • Conerstone Youth Center is open for teens
  • Parker Place - Retirement Community to open in 2008
  • New cell phone towers for better service
  • New Auditorium at A-P High School - Fall 2008
